It has been YEARS since I made MYSELF a quilt. This one is mine!
I have no idea what the name of the pattern may be. THIS is the 2017 Johnson County Quilt Guild Mystery Quilt.
I, and all those participating in this project, received the instructions for the quilt one step at a time, one month at a time. We did not know what our final product would look like. It was all a mystery and a big adventure!
Once the top was complete, I decided (because I didn’t have much choice–no money and nothing in my stash that would match) to piece the back of my quilt with what little fabric I had left over from the top.
I TRIED and TRIED and TRIED to get the front and the back to lay directly over one another so that when I quilted the sandwiched pieces the quilting would match both top and bottom. It just wouldn’t work. Since I’ve never pieced a back before I wasn’t sure what I was doing. SO, the quilting did not match top and bottom. SO WHAT?!?!
No one knows that but me…and now you. SHHHH!
It’s a beautiful quilt and I love it. AND, I think it’s flaws give it character.
PERFECTION BELONGS TO GOD ALONE. IT’S NOT MINE TO HAVE OR OWN.
