I did good!

November 2005

When my landlord found out I quilted he asked (as people always do) if I would make something for him, for his wife.

On their vacation the previous year they had seen a wall hanging she had truly admired and wanted. But, it had not been for sale and she did not sew at all, much less quilt.

{Honestly, for the most part, when people ask me to make them things, I usually say no. It’s one thing to make a quilt that you plan to gift, using your own patterns, ideas and choices. It’s a whole other thing to try to follow someone else’s ideals.}

My landlord gave me a picture of the wall hanging and asked me to recreate it. I WANTED to say no… but, he was so sweet. Plus, he was my landlord. I didn’t want to upset him. SO…with only a picture to go by… I made this wall hanging. I was terrified! However, I loved it. She loved it. He loved it. I did good. *SIGH OF RELIEF!”
