I am a HUGE fan of medieval period pieces. The Fifth Knight deserves the 5 star rating I’ve given it because it is an excellent mix of both fact and fiction. In addition, the author has done an incredible job of drawing, with words, a truly realistic picture of the times.
Her main characters, Theodosia and Benedict are fully developed, REAL people. They have flaws, make missteps and plenty of mistakes and yet are still fully capable of being the heroes they are.
The villains, just like the heroes, are also genuine in their villainy. The author has drawn each of them with purpose. We may not know WHY they are so evil…but, there is no doubt they are.
I am so impressed with this author and very much impressed with her work. Cannot wait to read another of her stories!
