Review: The Truth That Sets Free

4 Stars

By: Samuel Faith-Laye Ngafeeson
Genre: Bible Exploration

THE TRUTH THAT SET FREE is a very in-depth, very extensive journey through the Bible proving truth of God’s love, sacrifice and compassion for us as His children.

I have personally been a Bible Study leader/teacher for 25 years…I’ve led countless Bible exploration groups and have taught dozens of Bible classes. So, it’s with a little bit of embarrassment that I will tell on myself and admit that my ego had me thinking, before I read this book, “I already know my stuff and don’t need to learn anything new”. And, that’s when God tapped me on the shoulder and said, “think again”. I learned quite a lot while reading this book.

I very much enjoyed seeing old information from someone else’s perspective—the things I THOUGHT I knew were enhanced and led to real enlightenment in my heart. The author, Samuel Faith-Laye Ngafeeson, is very knowledgeable and is able to prove his every point by using scripture, the Word of God.

I will say, however, that the book reads more like a university-level schoolbook than I would have personally desired. I wish the author had included some more personal stories or something to engage the reader—something to make the reader feel as if the truths within were meant just for her or him. Instead the book is a little “dry”. While I can usually read a book in 5 to ten days (sometimes quicker), this book took me almost three weeks to read.

HOWEVER, that doesn’t change the fact that certainties found within the Bible, proving God’s love, and the helps included in this book to find those truths, are both relevant and eternal. Anyone reading this book will find THE TRUTH THAT SET FREE for themselves and those truths will change lives.

I would recommend this book to anyone.
