Review: Ashley Bell

5 Stars

Genre: Paranormal Fiction

I’ve been reading Dean Koontz books for 35 years. He never disappoints.
ASHLEY BELL is his newest offering and it IS a page turner! From the first pages to the last, the action is fast-paced, energetic and full of surprises. As innocence battles evil, as the paranormal seeks to disrupt normality and as Bibi searches for all that she’s lost, in order to save a young girl’s life, I—the reader—was so drawn into the action I felt a part of the story.

Koontz’ characters in this book, as in every book he writes, are fully-formed, well rounded people who I can identify with and admire. From her surf rat parents and best friend, to her Navy SEAL fiancée, to the Neo Nazi, mother-murdering psychopath who is her arch enemy, each character is as real as the confines of the page will allow them to be; I fell in love with each of them, INCLUDING Faulkner the antagonist. He’s someone you really love to hate!

And, then there’s Bibi Blair. She has just became my favorite new heroine! She is surprisingly strong, wickedly smart, and totally amazing! She truly is a very “valiant” girl.

I can’t—I won’t—give away any of the story. You’ll have to read it yourself. But, I will say that it’s WELL WORTH the read. I would recommend this book to anyone.

"I'd like to think of myself as a blended mix of Southern charm and humor. What I really am is a hot mess of sin and sass. Jesus loves me either way."
