Review: The Long Road to Heaven

5 Stars

By: Kathryn Harris

“Please,” she gulped back tears. “I think my baby’s dead.”

From that moment, in the prologue of THE LONG ROAD HOME, I was hooked.

Very well written, emotionally gripping, and very engaging story. The characters are real–“fleshed out”–and their stories become so personal to the reader. As least they did for me. I found myself putting myself in their shoes: “I would have said the same thing”, “I would have reacted in just that way, too.” When you can imagine yourself as part of the story then you know you’re reading a good book!! When I closed the last page…I started thinking about a certain someone I’ve needed to forgive, for a long time. I don’t know that I’m ready yet…but this story has me thinking about it. That’s got to tell you that this book is well worth the read!!

(January 12, 2016) Just re-read this book. I was two or three pages in when I said to myself, “Hey, you’ve already read this.” I ALMOST put it down to search for another…when I realized…I WANTED to read it again! It’s a really good book!

"I'd like to think of myself as a blended mix of Southern charm and humor. What I really am is a hot mess of sin and sass. Jesus loves me either way."
