Review: Revival

star 3

Stephen King is still THE king, as far as I’m concerned. Yet, honestly, this wasn’t his best work. Slow and ponderous in the beginning (and way too far into the middle and beyond), it suddenly lurched into the climax with little reason… No spoilers from this quarter…suffice it to say I didn’t care for the climatic scene at the end.

HOWEVER, King always has a way of ending the story-lines of all the characters in each of his books that always leaves me satisfied. There was no exception here. This was not his best work…yet, at the end of the day, even a so-so Stephen King book is still better than a great book from anybody else.

"I'd like to think of myself as a blended mix of Southern charm and humor. What I really am is a hot mess of sin and sass. Jesus loves me either way."
